Shears are back at stations in central Tokyo.
When grandma was young. This is a scene from the former daily life of a train station in a Tokyo village where only 80 years ago there were only a few dozen households. This village, swallowed up by Tokyo’s growing population, the largest in the world, has now been replaced by automatic ticket gates. In Tokyo, the number of trains continues to increase due to population growth, and if passengers are not allowed to exit through the ticket gates promptly after getting off the train, they will be left behind and it will be dangerous, so automatic ticket gates that allow passengers to pass through in 0.5 seconds have been introduced. Nowadays, IC cards have become the mainstream, and some stations on this Seibu railway line have begun to have unmanned station staff.
Happy 100th Anniversary of Kiyose and Hibarigaoka (Tanashi City) Stations!
